Jameson "Jami" Gong is a Chinese American born and raised in New York City's Chinatown. He is one of six children with one older brother and four sisters. His parents worked hard and gave them a lot of love. Jami graduated from Stuyvesant High School, and later Syracuse University. He has worked in retail for many years. Throughout Jami's life, he always possessed the gift to make people laugh. He believes that laughter soothes the soul, and unites people of all ages, race, gender, and religion. When he was growing up, he watched Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show". This show inspired him to become a future comedian.
Jami is the founder of TakeOut Comedy, The Premier Asian American Showcase in the World, features the best Asian American comics around. They are the ONLY Asian American comedy troupe that travels all over the USA and the world. Their comedy appeals to everyone and we are making huge impacts wherever we go. They are inspiring many people along the way and TakeOut Comedy is changing the perception of Asian Americans to the world!"
Patty Pan recently joined WAGA/FOX 5 in Atlanta as a reporter. She comes to us from Charlotte, North Carolina where she spent almost three years working as a reporter for the ABC Affiliate, WSOC-TV.
Patty majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in East Asian studies at Boston University and got her start in the industry through radio. After college, Patty spent a few years working in New York City and then moved to Taipei, Taiwan to work as a reporter for the only English speaking radio station on the island.
While at ICRT, she started to freelance for organizations like CNN Radio, NPR News and ABC Radio which eventually led to a full-time job at CNN Radio. She spent about a year in Atlanta working as an Anchor/Producer for CNN Radio before a chance meeting with a television news director led to her start in television. Patty recently got married and moved to Atlanta to be with her husband. Who coincidently, she met at one of our Chopstix For Charity benefits. Despite growing up in the north, Patty has always loved Atlanta and the south. After years of moving around, Patty now looks forward to making Atlanta her home with her husband and their two dogs, Archie and Destiny
